Lionel Freedman, founder and director of the World Hickory Open of Scotland, has passed away after a long illness. Born in 1934, he was 83 years old. Jim Davis wrote an excellent obit of Lionel for the SoHG website, which you can read here.
A few months ago, the FHG site ran a small story about Lionel speaking at the 2016 International Hickory Cup via Facebook/phone. We ran a video to record the call, which we include below so those who never knew Lionel can get a feel for who he was.
A true gentleman and ambassador of our game, Lionel will be greatly missed.
