Some fabulous weather greeted the Florida Hickory Golfers as we assembled for the annual championship of 2025. The historic Mount Dora Golf Club was a stern test as always and in excellent shape. On the line was the Stevens Trophy for most overall points accumulated, the Heritage Trophy for best differential to quota point requirement and the Rosemary Pabst Trophy for the top lady linkster. Lee Wilson was in peak form racking up 61 points securing the coveted Stevens Trophy while Carlos DeBarros latched on to the Heritage Trophy after a scorecard playoff against FHG Captain, Mike Stevens. On the lady’s side, the race was neck and neck after the first day, but Natalie Wells pulled away from the competition on day two to secure the Pabst Trophy until next December. So we bring to close another great year of hickory golf in the sunshine state and look forward to 2026 when we take up the chase once again from east to west, north to south or wherever the winding road may take us.
