The Society of Hickory Golfers recently posted information about two new national events worth a flight northward this coming September.
First, the Society of Hickory Golfers has announced a North/South Challenge Match at The Hill Course (designed by Donald Ross) at the French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana. The event is being held in conjunction with celebrations of the French Lick Resort Centennial and is planned as a Ryder Cup-style format with 32-person teams from North and South regional playing groups. Dates for the event are September 17-19. French Lick is about a 70 minute drive from Louisville, which is an easy flight from Florida. Get more info here.

Tillinghast design) and two rounds at St. Georges Golf Club (designed in 1917 by Devereux Emmet, an associate of C.B. Macdonald). The field is limited to the first 24-28 players to RSVP with payment.
