File this under niche market. A Detroit couple involved in several businesses has decided to start producing hickory shaft wedges as “retirement gifts.” I guess that’s shorthand for they won’t be very playable. Oh well, still an cool idea and maybe they’ll stumble upon something worth swinging.
It seems like they’re going to call the company Ayers Golf, which is interesting because there was an Ayres of London which made hickory clubs around the turn of the century. The prototype of their wedge of the Detroit couple is below.
