2011 USHO Open Winner Takes His Club Championship With Hickories

Alan Grieve, a delightful Australian fellow I had the pleasure of meeting at the 2011 US Hickory Open at French Lick, has become the first member of The Brisbane Golf Club since World War ll to win a monthly medal playing with a full set of hickory–shafted golf clubs.

The story was published by Golf Australia and it raises an interesting question – how many current hickory players could win their club championships with hickory clubs?  I know Bill Geisler did it in 2013 at his home course of the Tuscawilla Country Club in Winter Springs. Anyone else out there ready to go toe to toe with the 460s?  If you do, let us know.
