Hitting the Links on World Hickory Golf Day

Plantation CC – Venice, Florida – 5/5/24

A beautiful day greeted the Florida Hickory Golfers on World Hickory Golf Day at Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice, Florida. The Bobcat course was quite a challenge with undulating fairways and lightning-fast greens. Will Peterson, the Florida State Hickory champion took the Stapleford honors with 33 points. On the net side, Gary Cole was 4 better than his quota edging out Earl Hines by one point.

In the blind draw, Earl Hines teamed with Debs Herrington finishing 4 points better than their quota to edge out Rich Grula and Mike Stevens by a single point earning $20 each.

Thanks goes out to Plantation member Richard Mowery for arranging the invitation to the FHG golfers. Hope all our national and international partners who participated in WHGD enjoyed the day wherever they teed it up.
